Image Gerald E. “Baldy” Fry, 95, of Avon Park FL, died Wednesday, March 3, 2101, in Avon Park FL.

Born January 16, 1915 in Venus PA, he was a son of the late S. Allen and Aura N. Elder Fry.

Mr. Fry was a veteran of WW II serving in the Army Air Corps where he was a crew chief of a P-47 in the European Theater.

He was employed at Weaver’s Garage for 13 years as a mechanic prior to working at Conair, retiring in 1977.

Mr. Fry was a former member of the Heckathorn United Methodist Church and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Avon Park FL.

He enjoyed camping, woodworking and spent hours in his shop “tinkering”.

He as first married to Doris Fascenmeyer. On April 22, 1947 he married Doris L. Cleaver, who survives.

Also surviving are three sons Charles A. Fry and wife Karen of Cranberry, Garry E. Fry and wife Tammi of Tuscan AZ and John D. Fry of Oil City; 5 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, three brothers, Floyd Fry, Lee Fry and Sherl Fry, three sisters, Rosetta Sliker, DeElda Stewart and Martha Neely and a daughter-in-law, Rainie Fry

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Saturday from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 4 pm Sunday with the Rev. Pat Ellis, officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a charity of one’s choice.
