 Sara J. Fultz, 88, of Triangle VA, died Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Capital Hospice in Arlington VA.Born March 4, 1922 in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late Arthur L. and Winifred C. Lane Hewston. Mrs. Fultz enjoyed word search puzzles, crafts and had an extensive bell and crystal collection. On August 20, 1940 she married Gerald E. Fultz, who preceded her in death on October 13, 1994. Surviving are two sons, Gerald E. Fultz, Jr. and wife Dixie of Oil City, and James R. Fultz of Triangle VA; one daughter, Shirley Stamelos of Endicott NY; three grandchildren, Donald Heckathorn, Melodie Braden and husband Dick, and Stacy Britt and husband Jeff; 9 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Also surviving are two brothers, Arnold D. Hewston and wife Lois of West Haven CT, and Mike Hewston and wife Mary of Arlington TX; one sister, Margaret (Peggy) Morrison and husband David of Seneca; several nieces and nephews; and a family friend, Kevin M. Gathany of Triangle VA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald L. Fultz; and infant daughter, Sheryl Ann Fultz; a son-in-law, Ferdinand Heckathorn; four grandchildren, David, Billy, Michael and Erin Heckathorn; six brothers, Harry Hewston, twins Arthur Hewston and Archie Hewston, Charles Robert Hewston, Paul Eugene Hewston and Andrew J. Hewston; and two sisters, Louella Mae Roberts and Janet Joan Hines. Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday and Thursday. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 am Friday with the Rev. Pete Knight, officiating. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Arthritis Foundation. |
